Signing in

solardesk.app/login, with the email address and password you set up the account with. The heading says Sign in and the line under it says “Installer accounts only.”, which is how you know you are in the right place. Signing in lands you on your quote pipeline.

That address is the same for every installer on Solar Desk. There is no separate door for your company.

This is the one that catches people, so it is worth being blunt about.

If you go to your-address.solardesk.app/login, you will not get the form above. You get your own customers’ sign-in page, which asks for an email address and offers to email you a link. There is no password box on it, and no password you type anywhere on that page will get you into your dashboard.

Your address is for your customers. solardesk.app is for you.

The reason it works that way, rather than accepting both, is worth a sentence: a staff session created on your own address would belong to your address, not to solardesk.app, which is what actually serves the dashboard. It would look like it had worked, and then not. Redirecting you to the homeowner page is the honest version of that.

So if you find yourself on a page that offers to email you a sign-in link, you are on the customer side. Go back to solardesk.app/login.

The failure message is deliberately unhelpful:

That email and password do not match an account.

It will not tell you which of the two is wrong. A message saying “no account with that email” would let anyone sitting at the login page work out which addresses are registered on Solar Desk, one guess at a time, so the vagueness is the point rather than an oversight.

That leaves you to work through it yourself:

  • Check you are on solardesk.app, not your own address.
  • Check the email for typos, and check it is the address the account was created with rather than a shared inbox.
  • Try the password somewhere it can be seen before you retype it, since the field will not show it to you.

One other message exists: “That account is not attached to an installer.” means the sign-in itself worked, but the account has no company behind it. Get in touch, because that is not something you can fix from your side.

There is no screen for it. Roles exist (an admin can change pricing, branding and the catalogue; a rep can do everything else), but nothing in the application invites a second person in, and signing up again at solardesk.app/signup creates a whole new company with its own empty pipeline rather than a second seat on yours.

Ask us instead, and we will add them to your account. Roles covers what each one can do.

The bottom of the rail shows the email you are signed in as, with Sign out under it. Worth using on a shared machine: while you are signed in, that browser can see your calculator even when the public cannot.
